Science Fair

I'm very pleased to show you this quilt.  It's called "Science Fair" by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts.  I made it from a jelly roll of "Simply Color" by V. Christenson.  The background blue is an ombre fabric from the same line of fabric.  It kind of reminded me of water going into the sea so I quilted the water going down to the bottom of the ocean.  I used two pieces of Quilter's Dream Batting and So Fine thread.  I have to say that So Fine thread is my new friend.  I'm going to trade all of my thread out for it eventually.  Love how it quilts up.

I used Angela Walter's  book as a reference to figure out this center blocks and the pattern had some really nice pictures.  I learn so much from her.  I'm currently taking her Feathers class on Craftsy.  She is one talented lady for sure!

Thanks for taking a peek today.  Happy Friday to you and I hope you find some time to do some quilting this weekend.

  5. That turned out just beautiful. I signed up for her feather class as well. I also have signed up for her other one but just haven't finished taking it yet! I have a bunch of the so fine thread, but my machine doesn't seem to like it as much. I need to call the manufacturer to get help with some tension issues that I am having.
