Jan's Quilt

Here is my Aunt Jan's quilt.  It is called "Tales of the First Lady" by Eleanor Burns.  It turned out so beautiful.  When she first gave it to me to quilt I was thinking that there was no way I could do this quilt justice.  I just haven't had enough experience doing traditional quilts.  Especially feathers.  My husband was watching me look at this quilt after it was loaded and I mentioned to him that I wanted to do feathers but didn't know if they would look good.  He said "Just go for it. That's the only way you're going to learn." Well, I took his advice and I was so glad I did.  They turned out fabulous and they were perfect for this quilt!  I even quilted some feathers on the birds in the centers.

I'm very pleased with how this turned out.  My Aunt came to pick it up last night and she is always so excited to get her quilts back.  She said it was way too pretty to go on a bed so it's going on her wall.  She wants to get it bound and hung up by the end of the month when a lot of family is coming to town. I'm just proud to have been a part of this beautiful quilt.  Thank you, Aunt Jan for letting me quilt for you again.

Happy Quilting!

  3. Wow! Always love your quilting! This is amazing. I think you might have to add some feathers to one of mine soon. The quilting fits the quilt perfectly!
